The Dawn of the Dead Remake on the other hand, was extremely good. And the DVD has a mock newscast in the special features that's about 20 minutes long, which stars Richard Biggs (Dr. Stephen Franklin from Babylon 5) and is a really fantastic companion piece to the remake movie. For those who like the Daily show, or are media watch dogs, or even the ones who liked the Babylon 5 ISN episodes ought to get a real charge outta this one.

Hero. It's got some lovely fight scenes, gorgeously shot with some clever use of color. But the plot is tissue paper thin and the pacing is lethargic at best. As for the ending, well:
Spoiler
After all the exposition, the titular hero tells the proto-emperor that he's decided not to kill him. All very well, but then why turn up and make it clear that he was going to, thereby ensuring his own execution? Why not just go to the beach or something?
...but in the morning, I will be sober
Yeah, I was quite pleased with the Dawn of the Dead remake. I'll have to rent the DVD to see the Biggs thing, I was/am a huge B5 fan.

The Crow: Wicked Prayer. I'm almost hesitant to put this in the anti-recommendation thread. It's so bad it's funny. It's original Evil Dead bad. Maybe even Plan 9 bad. After Intermedio, I wasn't surprised to see Edward Norton <<edit: Edward Furlong>> suck (worst...... Crow....... ever). Looked like he was trying out for The Cure. Asrael who works at Cinnabon (SNL) was scarier. I was surprised to see Boreanaz suck. And Dennis Hopper gets the Raul Julia in Street Fighter Award. Danny Trejo is usually good for a scene or two, but the only thing about his performance that will stick in my mind are his man-teats bouncing around during a bare-chested Crow Dance. Oh, and Tara Reid is in this movie, but her character (ok, all the characters) is so 2-dimensional you can't see it if your couch sits at an angle from your TV.
Script - garbage. Direction - could only dream of being called garbage. In fact, I'm not sure if there was any direction. I think Lance Mungia is a fictitious person. If he's not, he should be.
In short: watch this movie. Glory in its suckitude with me.
1 out of 10.... million

Man, I should send Norton an apology letter for that one. Yeah.

I just watched Hide and Seek over the weekend.
Just another suspense thriller that is supposed to keep you guessing to the end what is really going on.
Not even halfway through I figured it out. Ever since The Sixth Sense, there have been countless movies that have tried to capture the essence of what was accomplished in that film.
Hide and Seek is just another not so good attempt of trying to cash in on The Sixth Sense phenomenon.

Italian Job, Kingdom of Heaven, and the Down in the Valley. The upcoming movie The Illusionist looks like it could be good.

I actually was at a couple of the same parties as him back in high school. Talked to him a few times and ran stage lighting for a play he was in. Nice guy, very driven. No surprise at all he's famous.

This has been recommended strongly to me. Having said that, it was recommended by the same person who thought Constantine was fantasticjelerak wrote:I just watched Hide and Seek over the weekend.
