Whatever, DLB. I am excited. Now quit raining on my parade, or at least have Jay make me a jaytar depicting you raining on my parade!

Peter Jackson has always had a passion for King Kong. Hopefully he'll do the original movie justice, but I thought the original was perfect as is. It's like trying to improve chess. Oh well. Definitely not excited enough about King Kong to see it in theaters, but, like War of the Worlds, I'll most likely rent it.

I think Peter Jackson should have followed his LOTR formula for King Kong and filmed three movies:
The Bellowship of the Ape -- in which the thundering Kong and eight faithful and equally loud companions set off to destroy the evil Lord Saturn.
The Two Powers -- in which Kong battles Godzilla, whom Kong thinks has enslaved his friends to serve Lord Saturn. But Kong soon realizes that Godzilla is also on a mission to destroy Saturn, and so the two join forces to defeat the evil Lord once and for all.
The Return of the King: Kong -- in which Godzilla and an old ally, Jet Jaguar, launch a diversionary assault on Lord Saturn's forces, while Kong rescues his companions and confronts Saturn himself in a final duel.

This is the type of movie that gets me all fired up! It's directed by Peter Jackson!
After seeing the preview I was a bit disappointed. Hopefully the movie will be great but the preview wasn't that good.
Now the previews for Godzilla were awe inspiring...unfortunately the movie stunk. I guess you just never know.

War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself. Okay, Okay, one more try.
And lo, the beast looked upon the face of beauty
and beauty stayed his hand
and from that day forward
he was as one dead.

Imagine if you will
an uncharted island
thought to exist only in myth.
It totally rocks. I dare anyone to not think that this will be a great movie.
(BTW, you can also see the future Thomas Covenant (Brody) and Linden Avery (Watts))[/i]

That's where I'll shoot my picture.AintItCoolNews wrote:I think I can accurately sum up my feelings in three words: I am bonerized. And if you’re not, metaphorically speaking, then you need to check your grinchy geek heart, ‘cause it may have stopped beating.
