you're more advanced than a cockroach,
have you ever tried explaining yourself
to one of them?
~ alan bates, the mothman prophecies
i've had this with actors before, on the set,
where they get upset about the [size of my]
trailer, and i'm always like...take my trailer,
cause... i'm from Kentucky
and that's not what we brag about.

a straight edge for legends at
the fold - searching for our
lost cities of gold. burnt tar,
gravel pits. sixteen gears switch.

Life has been rather stressful lately. Work has been very strange, wrestling season has started for both of my kids, which sucks up huge amounts of time (one or two tournaments with hundreds of participants pretty much every weekend between late November and March/April), and I've been helping my son with all of his college admissions essays and portfolios.
So I've been hauling my sorry butt out of bed early every day this week to squeeze in repeated listenings to Mahler's Fifth Symphony, a work that I truly love.
Unfortunately, because I have been stressed out, not getting enough sleep, and have run out of my supply of Low-Carb Monster Energy drinks (a trip to the warehouse club for another case is an absolute must on my day off tomorrow) every time the symphony gets to the lovely harp music I fall sound asleep.
I will be listening, the harp starts, and I wake up two hours later completely befuddled.
I will not allow the lovely, soothing harp music to defeat me. This is now war.
Tomorrow, armed with a can of Monster, I will have victory the relaxing sounds of the harp.
