Favorite fast food

Post by Worm of Despite »

I'd have to say that Steak n Shake is my favorite fast food joint. Gimme a double steakburger, some cheddar cheese fries, and a tall milkshake. It's also a real treat, cause the closest one is about 40 miles away.

Locally, it's a toss-up between Wendy's and Burger King. I think their quality of burger surpasses the competition, and their fries ain't bad, either. Unfortunately, I love McDonald's fries but hate their hamburgers. Can't have it all, can we?

Can't forget Taco Bell, either. Where else for quick, Americanized Mexican food? Well, there is all those Mexican resaurants, I guess. heh.

Honorable mentions: Checkers, Central Park, Sonic (love their onion rings and jalapeno poppers).

I like Dash Inn even though it's absolutely disgusting... I think it's just L-town that has one though... their sign says something about there not being another one for however many miles it is around the earth.

They make wagonwheels which is a hamburger patty between peices of toast and put in this thing that presses it together and cuts off the crust.

Also, the Artic Swirls are fantastic! You can get combinations of anything you want, but like Dairy Queen, but it's only about 1/2 ice cream and the rest is cookie dough or whatever you got, mmm! :D

Taco Bell is the only fast food I'll eat, and I only have that once a month, if that often. I used to eat at Wendy's periodically, or BK from time-to-time, but about 2 years ago I really wanted to stay away from that junk (as much for my daughter's health as mine). Then we watched "Supersize Me", and that was the last of it.

Fast food is expensive, really bad for you, and it doesn't taste good.

Pretty much only Subway for me.

If I'm with the kids in McD's;
If I'm dying for a burger, usually Harveys-but it's not very often.

Given the choise though, I'd try to go to a Fish and Chip bus (Mmmmm greasy Fish and Chips)
I thought you were a ripe grape
a cabernet sauvignon
a bottle in the cellar
the kind you keep for a really long time

Ahhh, now see I don't consider Subway to be fast food. You actually have to try to get something unhealthy there.

I eat there at least once a week.

Okay The Fish and Chip thing then.
The Ol' Lady and me will usually order One order of fish, and one order of Clams and chips, and slipt them.

You could order a salad, or a vegetarian sandwich. The chain markets seven subs with six grams of fat or less.

But for the most part, the staple of this franchise is processed meats and cheeses, soft drinks and chips.

Subway sandwiches include such classics as Steak and Cheese, Subway Melt (a first class blend of turkey breast, ham, crispy bacon, and melted cheese) Italian BMT (pepperoni, genoa salami, and ham) and the Cold Cut Trio (turkey based ham, salami, and bologna) Â. not your typical heart healthy sandwiches.

I used to feel that way about Steak N Shake - when the nearest one was 60 miles away. Now that there's one less than 10 miles from me I almost never go.

I never really cared for either Wendy's or Burger King. McDonalds, I'll have once in a while, then mostly breakfast - I like the McGriddles, though their burgers are better than either Wendy's or Burger King also, imo.

The only time Taco Bell ever tastes good is after a night out.

Around where I live there are a lot of small joints, not chain restaurants, that serve Hot Dogs and Italian Beef sandwiches as the main fast food items. I tend eat that type of meal more than burgers when I'm on the road.

Lucky bastage! I would go at least once a month if I was within 10 miles. Heck--I'd jog there. Note of clarification: I almost never eat fast food, even though I wax lyrical about it. I think I've only eaten five hamburgers this year, if steakburgers count. Due to my diet being healthy-health stuffs, a geographically close Steak & Shake would still remain a distant treat. Heck--have not eaten a Double Whopper since 2003, and it’s my all-time favorite!

They do have a great vanilla shake - but I refuse to succumb to the sudden temptation to go and get one now!

I ate at Steak 'n Shake for the first time Saturday. I had a flat tire, it was next to the tire place, and it was going to be a while, so I went.

The burger was fantastic, I had a classic single cheeseburger, and it was wonderful. I wasn't too thrilled with the itty bitty french fries, if I am going to consume all of those calories, I want something to chew.

All that said, Taco Bell is my favorite fast food at the moment. :)

Harveys has a good veggie burger--it tastes just like their meaty burger.
(well it's good If you like harvey's burgers I guess)

- I always thought that it'd be funny to order a veggie burger, and then ask for bacon on it.

Ask 'em for the cheddar cheese fries next time. Maybe not chewier, but if you like processed melted cheese on your fries, they're the bees knees!

One place I've always wanted to try is Jack in the Box. Will definitely look for one, some day.

And oh: call me crazy, but I miss my local Little Ceasars. It moved ages ago, but ohhh the fond memories.

There's a tiny take-out place (heh, it's not much bigger than a kiosk) called VJ's just down the street from my workplace that offers humongously chubby and greasy fries, and the servings are generous. MacDonald's fries look anemic by comparison. Basically, VJ's fries is the main meal for me when I order there. New York Fries are okay, too, but they're more expensive. VJ's wins the day. Good thing I don't go there every day, or I'd end up like the Supersize guy pretty quick. Either that or I'd have some massive heart attack and drop dead.

For burgers, A&W is my favorite. I like Wendy's too, but I haven't been to one for years. But the ultimate burger for me would be the Double Superboy Supreme from, yes, another tiny joint called Superboy's. I think I've only had that monstrous burger two times in my life. I'm in awe of it.
