Oh. My.

I can't believe how good it was. Right from the FFVII opening scene with Red XIII until the very last shot of the photo... I had a grin across my face.

Just hearing that music again and seeing the places again... and even tiny things like a roadsign pointing to Kalm.

It was great. Not to mention the film itself; the animation was superb, the fight scenes looked incredible, and... yeah. Excellent.

Hmmm, my best friend desrcibed it as moderately terrible. He said it was if Square went to a bunch of fan boys and asked what they wanted.
Um...we want a new Sephiroth. No, two! No! Three! Three Sephiroths! And we want Aeris, because we never really got over her death, and she has to show up again and again and again.
He also commented on the dialogue being somewhat odd, in that while each individual word was in fact an actual word in the english language, when strung together to form sentences they...well...didn't actually form proper, understandable sentences.

This isn't surprising, anyone who has listened to the lyrics of the two songs from Final Fantasy X-2 will understand. It's in my language, but it doesn't mean a thing.
You do not hear, and so you cannot be redeemed.

In the name of their ancient pride and humiliation, they had made commitments with no possible outcome except bereavement.

He knew only that they had never striven to reject the boundaries of themselves.

I don't really agree with that. For a start, there aren't three Sephiroths. There're three main bad guys, who look a little bit like Sephiroth... but that's understandable, given the fact that they have to do with him. But why wouldn't they? It's a sequel; there was always going to be something to do with Sephiroth there.

As for Aeris... maybe she seemed to show up a little bit too much; it kind of negates the whole thing about her dying if Cloud can pop along and see her every half hour anyway.

And the dialogue... well, that's probably just a subtitle problem. I don't think that they officially released a subtitled version, so it's just done by some fan (I think). But it's easy enough to understand what's happening, on the whole.

Then again, I am something of a FFVII fanboy, so it probably would be what I want :P

You can get DC++ from dcplusplus.sourceforge.net.

Then I guess search the Public Hubs for one that's maybe game/anime-oriented and has lots of users... and hopefully you'll find something.

People're also selling subtitled DVDs on eBay.

I'm with Somberlain here. Advent Children really took me back. Hearing Nobuo's music, seeing the characters again. I also couldn't get over the animation (finest I've ever seen). The ending was satisfying and gave me a sense of closure. If this is the last chapter of the FF7 saga, then I'm impressed.

And yeah, of course it's a fan-service, but I thought it was a well-orchestrated and touching one. Will have to see it again, to truly appreciate all the amazing action sequences. Definitely going to get it on DVD, so I can appreciate it on my big screen/surround sound. Great stuff.
