The IRC chat, when I go there zonealarm pops up and I just click 'allow'. However, at the minute the IRC chat isn't working anyway - there's a browser-based chat linked at the bottom of the index page.
If you're not even getting the ZA 'allow'/'deny' popup, try removing your web browser from the program controls. It should then pop up the next time you use the browser and you'll have to set the permissions again. You need to say 'allow' to acting as a server when you go onto the chat page (though I'd say not to click 'every time').
If it's the other chat you're referring to and not the Java IRC, then I don't know how to help, sorry.

I have zonealarm too, and I don't have any problems with MSN's or AOL's IM, or the Watch's chat. Strange. Sorry I can't help.
But what's really strange is that you joined the Watch for the purpose of asking this question.
