guess what! mine neither!!! we ran into this problem before when we got Vampire: The Maquerade...our machine's power source limits our video card selection. dammit.

so there's one card we can get OR...we have a credit line at Dell! heh.
may just have to get a new cpu!!!!

ah well...it would have been detrimental to my studies at this point in the semester to have this game up and running!! 8O
i'll just have to cultivate patience. arg.

Yay, I got it! It runs on my computer! Sure, I had to set almost everything at minimum resolution (I'm on a 7-month-old laptop) but even so, the game is nothing short of spectacular!

Now I MUST resist the temptation to buy a desktop computer so I can play the game as it is meant to be played...

For those who are unable to play the game, or don't have it yet, you can still enjoy the view:

Wow, the draw distance really is amazing. What's the AI like? I'm a bit wary of anything that gets mocked in CtrlAltDel.

My new vid card arrived this morning. It's a serious bit of kit (cost $500 when they first came out, apparently) and looks like it eats babies. I didn't get chance to try it on WoW before I came to work, but it can play X3: Reunion on maximum detail, which is no mean feat when you consider the actual age of the card and the (near complete lack of) optimization of that game.

Are your AGP drivers and settings in good order? My brother was getting awful game performance from his comp, then I discovered that a) he hadn't installed his motherboard's AGP drivers b) his video output was set to PCI not AGP and c) he only had 2xAGP enabled in his ATI Control Center. Of course, none of those would explain the sound problem. Could one or more of your RAM sticks gone pop?

thanks Nav...i'll mention to Ger but i think all those things have been checked...i remember him babbling in the corner the other night about PCI and AGP but i confess...i wasn't paying attention. ( i just leave him to babble in the corner on occasion!)

i thinks he's decided to return all the hardware he bought and buy a new cpu!!! hahaha! (which is what i TOLD him to do in the first place.heh)

anyway...thanks again for the suggestion. :D

I haven't explored every town, but I do know they each sell houses. Just gotta find one suitable to my orc's tastes. Heh.

Best dungeon so far: Goblin Jim's Cave. I had a blast in here - didn't die once, and found a great Elven blade.

Love the Elven-style stuff. Wish the Elven armor was heavy instead of light--then again, my orc would look weird using Elven equipment!

I'm the head of the Thieves Guild, the head of the Dark Brotherhood, the Grand Champion of the Arena, and a vampire :D If I keep going like this, I'll end up with more power and influence than the new emperor will ever have ;)

I'm a warrior and yet have managed to easily do the Thieves Guild quests. It's mainly because of a quest item I got from the Nocturnal Daedra statue. Very, very cool thing, that.
