I need to see "I Hate Jeffrey Maier"

Post by kevinswatch »

Damn you Jeffrey Maier!!!

www.baltimoresun.com/sports/baseball/ba ... -headlines

Heh, OK, maybe I'm the only person who wants to see this, but dammit, I'm going to!
The film has piqued the interest of Tom Kiefaber, owner of The Senator Theatre, who said there's a "high probability" that he will show it there this summer.
SWEET.

Even forgetting the fact that it's a film made by a local Marylander about an infamous event in Baltimore Orioles history, it looks really funny.

Although I still remember watching that stupid kid cheat ten years ago, robbing the Orioles of advancing in the playoffs.

I'LL SEE YOU IN HELL, JEFFREY MAIER!!! YANKEES SUCK!!!

Heh... Good times.-jay

I'm all over this.

Sounds awesome. I want to know how it ends!

Thanks for the link, Jay. I don't follow baseball, but I remember seeing footage of that incident. At least I think it's the same one you're talking about. Didn't something similar happen to the Chicago Cubs? Maybe I'm thinking of that? Ack. I don't know. Not a follower of baseball.

Anyway, my sympathies about the whole Orioles thing, even though it was ten years ago.

I think this just goes to show how sport can provoke the most childish, basest emotional responses from human beings. I guess I'm a little surprised that Mr. Jeffrey Maier hasn't suffered any physical harm in all these years. Well, maybe he has, but he's keeping that to himself - and I wouldn't blame him. Could this be one of the reasons why he has refused any interviews?

Geez....Jay, am I going to have to ban you? Reel it in, dude. The Orioles weren't gonna get past the 1st round, anyway. The Yankees were destroying everybody 10 years ago....

Nonono, no defiling this sacred Orioles thread with your Red Sux Mumbo Jumbo! Red Sox Suck!

As the article says, Maier is currently a senior in some college playing Division II baseball.-jay

Bill Buckner I definitely remember. (Who doesn't?) Like everyone else, I just couldn't believe that he failed to catch that ball. You didn't have to be a baseball fan to appreciate the magnitude of that blunder. Poor guy.
