hey, its all subjective. they had their roots in punk i agree. i just think by the end they had broken their boundries and couldn't be defined in one genre. the clashes message was one of political and social idealism. most other punk bands were nihilistic.
Today, all punk is dead.
totally agree. which day do you think punk died? or did it just fade away?
It'd take you a long time to blow up or shoot all the sheep in this country, but one diseased banana...could kill 'em all.

I didn't even know sheep ate bananas.

Yeah, categorizing is definitely subjective!

Anyway, I don't think there was a day punk died. I see it really as a shortlived, but great, movement that had its roots in its day, you know? It had to run out of steam, and it did.

Punk was pretty much over and done in the early '80s.

I always loved that cover, and am sincerely moved by the selfless sacrifive the Precision Bass made so people all over the world like myself could love that cover. In other news, I got Sandinista! last friday, and it rocks!
Dandelion don't tell no lies
Dandelion will make you wise
Tell me if she laughs or cries
Blow away dandelion

I'm afraid there's no denying
I'm just a dandelion
a fate I don't deserve.

The main difference being that Paul Simonon was trying to kill a roach with his bass, while Elvis was trying to eat his Martin.....

I try to not have too much to drink, but when I occasionally do, this could be my theme song.
