hey, its all subjective. they had their roots in punk i agree. i just think by the end they had broken their boundries and couldn't be defined in one genre. the clashes message was one of political and social idealism. most other punk bands were nihilistic.
Today, all punk is dead.
totally agree. which day do you think punk died? or did it just fade away?
It'd take you a long time to blow up or shoot all the sheep in this country, but one diseased banana...could kill 'em all.
Anyway, I don't think there was a day punk died. I see it really as a shortlived, but great, movement that had its roots in its day, you know? It had to run out of steam, and it did.
Punk was pretty much over and done in the early '80s.
