I saw it on thursday last week. It was excellent, I particularly enjoyed Davy Jones.
But if you're all about the destination, then take a fucking flight.
We're going nowhere slowly, but we're seeing all the sights.
And we're definitely going to hell, but we'll have all the best stories to tell.

Good, fun movie. My local theatre was doing a thing where everyone could take their babies so I went with Sid. He pretty much slept the whole way through but he was engrossed when he was awake.

I enjoyed it but it was hard to concentrate with all the hot mothers around.

You could just replace "Marv" with "entire male race," ya know.

Well, going to watch this movie tomorrow night with two friends. Wish I had seen the first one in theaters!

Without a doubt, worst movie of the year. A good editor was desperately needed for this movie. Can Sparrow become any more ridiculous?

Saw P2 on monday. Nice middle film. Kind of reminds me of Empire Strikes Back in that everything has gone to heck and it leaves the third film to clean it all up.
Really enjoyed it. Davy Jones special effects are worth the price of admission.

What did I ever do to deserve two and a half hours of such boredom?

Jack Sparrow was unsympathetic, making him not funny as in the first movie but stupid and annoying.

Elizabeth Swan was all talk, but when it came down to business she reverted to "fainting" like a pathetic stereotypical woman. Stupid and annoying.

The non-ending? Not stupid, as it opens the way for the third movie well and having Rush's character show up was a nice touch, but still very annoying. I have seldom encountered a more unsatisfying ending to a film.

Disappointing in that the concept and execution of Davy Jones was great, as was the Dead Man's Chest mythos. They just failed to add any real story to it and so it was like 150 minutes of going nowhere.

And that's 150 minutes I will never get back.

I liked it! But not because the plot holds water.

You didn't think Sparrow was sympathetic? There's only one answer to that: ... Pirate!
Spoiler
What worked was all the special effects surrounding the Flying Dutchman and her crew. And I thought that the burgeoning love triangle was believable. There was good action, and good laughs.

What didn't work was anything logical. For example:

When the main characters abandon ship at the island where they found the chest ... somehow they get back to the island where the bayou witch lived. How did that happen, stuck in a longboat?

The ending would have been a better cliffhanger if they had cut it right when Jack was manacled and his ship was in peril. But I can see how they wanted to get one more face in the movie. Too bad, the more they showed Jack leaning into that toothed maw, the more unbelievable it got.

well, I'm certainly glad I came in here before I go to see it.....knowing the details of the ending is always helpful understanding the beginning of the movie..... ;)

LOL, you might wanna spoiler that, Wayfriend. (Having said that, I am less and less interested in seeing this movie. Heh, don't suppose somebody could just save me the $9.75 and tell me the whole plot now? 'cause I'm running out of money...)

I know Sparrow was a pirate, but he was a far more sympathetic character in the first movie than in the second.

Besides, pirates can be portrayed as sympathetic in the same way that nurses can be protrayed as unsympathetic.

while fun i was irritated by the ending. i know they are doing a third movie, but still. Davy Jones and the Dutchman were great concepts.

:::shrug:::

While I have yet to see this movie, I can tell you that was my initial response to the ending of The Empire Strikes Back...
