Bitchiest Battle is good and would be a hotly contested battle!
War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself. I second all these Syl.
I don't think we should give seperate awards for sub-forums in the Collective or the Waymeet as most of those forums aren't super-busy and we'd also be left with way too many awards. As long as everyone nominates the threads/posts they think are great then each sub-forum in those two sections (and each forum covered in both the General SRD and General TC catagories) will probably be included.Best Avatar

True, but it also makes things a little silly. Especially when we are talking about forums that might only have twenty or so active threads over the course of a year.sgtnull wrote:more awards allows for more winners.

Hmmm. Admitting that probably isn't going to help your cause.

Instead of a Watcher of the Year, I propose that every year we induct one (or more) Watcher(s) into a kind of "KW Hall of Fame." I admit that it probably sounds even more vague than Watcher of the Year, and could be even more problematic, but I'm just throwing this idea out. (Don't worry, I'm already resigned to being shot down.) Next!

I think I could find a better one if I looked hard enough. There's this video we watched in my physics class where at one point he takes a box full of the "elements" and throws them out, and they all land on their exact spots on the periodic table with classical music playing in the background. If I could somehow splice an image from that video, I think I'd have yours beat.Loremaster wrote:Best Carl Sagan Avatar.
Maybe you guys could do a best dissector for each book, or each subseries (first, second, and last chronicles)? And also have one for best, like, person at discussing the dissections or something? Best responder?Wayfriend wrote:Oh oh ...
Let's have an award or two for the Dissection gang. We've been working real hard on the Runes dissection, and such work should be rewarded.
I'm not really active in the dissections, they seem very involved, but I assume that besides stellar initial posts there are people who read them and respond with further analysis and such.
I don't think I can get any of those awards, except perhaps newbie of the year And I think Jenn has me beat on that by a longshot, among others. Boohoo?

Personally, I just don't like to see the Dissections become part of a "race" for awards. I'm referring only to the actual chapter summaries, not the replies. I have no problem with a "best reply" award.Holsety wrote:Maybe you guys could do a best dissector for each book, or each subseries (first, second, and last chronicles)? These are just my own ramblings. I don't speak for anyone else, and I don't expect anyone else to agree with me.
