Why does Melenkurion Skyweir have one of the 7 words of power in its name?

and why are there only 6 words of power when there are supposed to be 7?

*thinks* melenkurion abatha duroc minas mil kabaal... right? thats 6...

if i got that wrong its not my fault... i dont have referance material here....

Perhaps the slurring of the words Melen and Kurion over a few millennia is at the heart of the problem. Nah!

I think Melenkurion Skyweir has one of the words of power because it holds (or held) the EarthBlood and the Power of Command, the 7th Ward.

Not sure about word number 7. Those are the only ones I know of too.

In LFB, one of the Lords says a bunch of the words and there are like, 9 or 10 of them. Most of them are never seen again. Never knew what the significance of it was, if not a continuity glitch.

I wonder if SRD would be annoyed if we asked him a question like that... Hey, does this mean something, or is it just a continuity glitch?

Yeah I discussed this with a couple of people before. We think that the seventh Word has been lost; possibly delved within the Lore of Kevin.

My best guess would be that it's probably contained in one of the Wards that were undiscovered by the Lords. If you remember, the word "duroc" was not used by the Lords in LFB. However, by the time of TIW, it had appeared just after "abatha."

Sounds like the Lords discovered "duroc" through their studies of the Second Ward.

And Mhoram used all six when he confronted the raver outside of Revelstone in TPTP.

I also think the Unfettered One in Andelain used them all when he defended Covenant and Atarian during the ur-vile attack on the Wraiths... I'll have to look that one up...

And Atiaran said:

Since he said exactly seven different words, it would seem that Atiaran doesn't think the Seven Words are seven words. And Hyrim's addition of Duroc is an eighth word, I guess that idea is correct.

And anyway, Kinslaughterer says they're pronounced badly.

Well, I'm not sure I'd go that far!

But I have admired the Unfettered I've known about. In fact, the only human I ever allowed to actually enter Grimmerdhore (OK, the only one I ever allowed in that I didn't kill) was one of the Unfettered.
