It seems I'm the only one who overrates it. :( Heck, I even made a thread for it. At least a few others liked it. :D

I thought Troy was rather good, Fist, if that makes you feel any better. :D

Fist darling, we all have different tastes etc and that's what keeps life interesting isn't it? I am sure I probably loved some films that you found to be trite or boring or horrible....
Now if I could just find a way to wear live bees as jewelry all the time.....

Agreed, i liked it aswell.
But if you're all about the destination, then take a fucking flight.
We're going nowhere slowly, but we're seeing all the sights.
And we're definitely going to hell, but we'll have all the best stories to tell.

ROTFL! I still have that pic taped to my monitor at work.

And then there was Brad Pitt: *runrunrun... POSE!*

Such things truly test the limits of my Loving nature. How one can have such a name, and such an avatar, yet be so horribly backward about this movie... *sigh*
I neither hate nor love the movie, I'm ambivalent about it. You of all beings must recognize that an emotional connection is required before anything else can have meaning, whether it's a connection between a deity and the worshipper or between a movie and the viewer. Why do I suddenly sound like Yoda?

Anyway, like I said in the Brokeback Mountain thread, I have a similar problem with Crouching Tiger. I could not connect with the characters.

You know, considering all this, the only Ang Lee film I can say I really warm to remains Sense & Sensibility. (I didn't see The Hulk because the CGI of him looked bad to me.)

A Gunslinger wrote:gangs of new York... I thought the tenor and storytelling in this movie was frickin' awesome. Pitch perfect. The song was terrible, but that (to me) deos not impact the sight, sound, and story of the film.
I respect your passion for this movie, Guns. Hey, glad it worked for you!

Personally, I liked much better Scorsese's other period drama, The Age of Innocence. I consider it an underrated movie.

Hate to say it, but the 1933 version of "King Kong" - yeah, so it had "ground breaking" SPFX....THEN. I hardly rate the damn thing now, when you see such amazing CGI these days. (And Fay Wray's shrieking was ghastly! They gave awards for acting like that??? 8O )

Old movies are OK, but crikey, they could never have made Lord of the Rings before the turn of the millennium!

Agreed about King Kong. Not a single version of that movie is worth a damn, IMO.

Are you suggesting a thread about how bad something is should not include opposing views? At the Watch?!?? I don't think so!
I hope that's not what Damelon is suggesting...unfortunately, to me it seems he's suggesting not only that, but also that Cail and I are somehow remiss in our duties by not steering this thread back on course. Trust me, that's not the case, Damelon.

I will admit that I do take a certain satisfction in bashing the Matrix movies.

I can fix that, just let me post a pre-coffee and pre-shower pic.

VERY scary, I assure you.

He said it was scary! I like scary things! Especially scary films, and on that note I would like to add that the Texas Chainsaw Massacre is overrated.
