Hot Fuzz

Post by stonemaybe »

I thought this film would be everything that I hate!

But I haven't laughed so much in years!

A comedy classic.

BUT, if you didn't laugh at Bad Taste, you might not laugh at this film!

Is this the flick with Sean Pegg, the guy from Shaun of the Dead?

Written by Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright, directed by Edgar Wright, starring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. Same as Shaun of the Dead, so I have no doubt that it'll be good.

Mentioned Bad Taste above, think also From Dusk til Dawn and Desperado.

Not that it's like those films, but the humour sort of reminded me of them. Similar music to Shaun of the Dead - some Ash, Whale, ie Brit-indie.

(Note to me -Must watch SOTD!)

It's set in a sleepy very-English village in Gloucestershire (where I live) so that made it even funnier - I know about five villages like that within ten miles of here! And yes, they do talk like that!

Balon - I'm sure it's on u-Torrent or something by now.

Slightly dodgy camerawork, but you can watch it here.

Saw the movie over the weekend....LOVED IT!

I really did not think it could be as funny as SoD but it was even funnier.

Great movie!

I loved how many films they duplicated shot-for-shot scenes. I love action movies, and this works as a great parody/spoof/homage and as an action film.

Yarp.
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”
-George Steiner
