I do not eat potatoes or fish. This poses a problem quite often. Well, to be frank, I can almost count the things I do eat on my right hand fingers. Name one course and I shall point out to you why it is not eatable...

But, there is nothing that I hate  as much as potato! Except of course when it is tortured (deep fried for example - Ha! You had that comming you evil potato! )

Oh, you've just never had poison cooked right!

Yes, unfortunately it is so... That do make my life a bit harder, and much more embarrassing (especially since I come from a family who live by the coast and do a lot of fishing during the summer. When I for a short time worked in a dairy farm I was introduced to the neighbouring farmers as "the person who do not eat potatoes!")

I eat some kinds of meat (not slimy parts, nobody will ever understand what I mean by this, but there are parts of meat you can not clear of fat, tendons and other thingies and they taste bad or have an unpleasant consistency), but I prefer to cook it myself so that I know what is in the food and what is not...

I cant eat ordinary rice, only basmati-rice. I cant eat pasta as it is, it must be stewed with milk first (and drowned in ketchup).

I am a horrible (spoiled? But my parents really tried!) person, but I try every now and then to eat "earlier uneatable" food. So far no luck.

What do I eat?
French fries, meatballs (only one special brand), hamburgers (special brand or home made), chicken-breast stew, thin pancakes and chili con carne and goulash soup (without potato of course). Those are the things I can remember right now, it might be one or two courses more...

When I was younger I hated all kinds of pasta we got in school. It was always cooked too long. Much too long. So long it became the exact opposit to al dente. You know the way it swells? The spaghetti looked like worms. Yuck!

I eat almost anything but I don't like mushrooms much. If I'm at a dinner party or another social event I eat what I'm served, including mushrooms, but I try not to think about what I'm eating. It's the texture I can't stand.

I have the same problem with liver too.

And I don't like brusselsprouts. Probably the only vegetable I don't like.

Or coffe. If I'm having coffe it has too be served with a LOT of milk.

Pasta stewed with milk isn't so strange as it might sound. One way of making it is to:

1) cook the pasta and pour of the water.

2) make a white sauce, fairly thick. Often ground nutmeg is used in the sauce for added flavour.

3) put the pasta in the white sauce and heat it.

Serve with meatballs or maybe sausages. A nice sallad too. Mustard and - of course - ketchup is optional ;) .

Edited to say that this is a great way to use pasta left overs.

War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself. The sensmoral is: badly treated potato which do no longer taste like potato, resemble potato and with no remains of good nutrional values left is ok to eat. Mashed potato is for example not enough: it still has some nutrional value I think. ;) [/quote]
