I'm planning on the fancy box set. You can actually pre-order it on Amazon to be shipped in September.
Now if I could just find a way to wear live bees as jewelry all the time.....

Wow!
I now know what I am suggesting to my sister to get her nephew for Hanukkah!!
I know he'll be getting the CDs of DH from her for his birthday. Good thing he'll have finished reading the book long before his birthday comes. He loves listening to Jim Dale's characterizations, and usually reads along with the CDs once he has both.
YVW, Seafoam.

It's pretty cool. I'll probably just stash that and keep rereading my old tattered copies.

Although when we do begin the dissection in September I need a newish copy of SS/PS. When I read a chapter a night to Beorn as his bedtime story when he was in kindergarten, I bought the paperback edition. That copy has been long gone due to being lovingly reread by a kindergartener-third grader (I think it lasted that long). I don't think we ever replaced it. Although the others have been hardcover first issues as Beorn had to have his copies right away as they came out, so we have the rest.

Remind me, Balon. You have or have not read the books before?
sindatur, yep. That's pretty much my situation. SS/PS was a long fallen apart paperback, the rest are all hardbound purchased as soon as they came out. However, Beorn just told me Azkabhan had lost half it's pages, so I'll need to get a new copy of that, and GoF has been missing a while.
*sigh*
I really should just purchase that collector's set, but for now I'll settle for paperbacks, if I can find them. Perhaps FIL will get the collector's set as a Hanukkah gift for Beorn if I point him in that direction when he asks what Beorn wants...

Erm... in a manner of speaking. Heh.Menolly wrote:Remind me, Balon. You have or have not read the books before?
I read them when they first came out when I was in the Fifth grade, and then when each of them came out, but since then? Nope.
It's all fresh.
