I see you're into independent films, null. I love Lost In Translation. 13 Moons sounds very intriguing.
I ought to see more indie films, it's just that I saw a whole lotta them in the early '90s and suffered burnout.
My Top 10 hasn't changed all that much. I think my favorites show that I like big budget flicks when they're done well. I'm a sucker for "event" movies. I've already rambled on about these movies in one thread or another:
1. 2001: A Space Odyssey
2. Before Sunrise
3. The Matrix
4. Unforgiven
5. Jurassic Park
6. For The Moment
7. Fellowship of The Ring
8. Blade Runner
9. The Empire Strikes Back
10. Star Trek: The Motion Picture

I'm with Guns. I'll probably remember something else that'll bump things.
And these are in the order I remember them, not in order of favorites.
Leon, The Professional
Fisher King
Fearless
Lord of the Rings trilogy (if I have to pick, I'd pick Fellowship)
Fear of a Black Hat
City of Lost Children
Rushmore
Joe Vs. The Volcano
V For Vendetta
Spirited Away

I really loved War of the Worlds me my own self!!! We had just moved, and that very night , we had a severe T-strom that featured tons of cloud to ground lightning strikes. The kids freaked.

This is why lists like this are futile and silly. Heat, Tombstone, and Braveheart are all favorite movies of mine. None of the 10 films I listed suck, so what to do?danlo wrote:What!? No Heat or Tombstone? (the Val Kilmer fan club shrinks in terror)
This is why I ignored the thread for the first couple of days.

I was going to post my top ten, but that went out the window when I realized Police Academy 8 might not get made, and even if it does get made, what'd I put down for 9 & 10?

"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”
