Favorite Robot / Android

Post by aTOMiC »

Gee wiz. There are dozens of Robots and Androids in film and literature and they all seem to find a way of fascinating us. My favorite would be hard to choose from. I'll list a few below to help you and I to decided.

B-9 Robot - Lost In Space "Danger Will Robinson. Danger!"
Robbie - Forbidden Planet.
C-3PO - Star Wars
R2-D2 - Star Wars
Battle Droids - Star Wars
Commander Data - STNG
War Robot - Judge Dredd
Andrew - Bicentennial Man
Bender - Futurama
Gort - The Day the Earth Stood Still
Gunslinger - Westworld
Ash - Alien
Terminator - Terminator
Number 5 - Short Circuit
Robocop - Robocop

Thats all that comes to mind. I know for a fact there are much more.
You get the idea.

I still have a soft spot for the old B-9 from Lost in Space.

The "Lucifer" Cylon is the robot you are thinking of. "Number Five is Alive!" "Imput. More Imput!" How should I know why this thread isn't in Sci Fi? Oh yeah. I was following the footsteps of "Favorite Actor / Favorite Actress" Thats right. Now I remember.

Two words...Seven of Nine!
War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself. To be fair she is way more woman....wow....uh...I've lost my train of thought. ...uh.... so anyway I think of her as only mildly Borg and therefore mildly cybernetic but I know what you mean. If all cyborgs looked like that.....

I don't think a Borg constitutes anything near an andriod until it's at least 1/2 way mechanized--and Marvin the Martian is an alien--NOT and andriod or robot! And this thread following the other 2? k. :screwy:

I agree about Seven and Marvin.

About the thread. The one following this one will be "What is your favorite movie prop." Followed by "favorite grip" and finally "Favorite seat in the theater" :-)

*Brinn looks around warily and makes sure Pee Wee Herman is no where in sight*

I think there should be a seperate forum for discussions like this! ;)

Could be wrong, but maybe it was Marvin, the paranoid android (Hitchhiker's Guide). Definately my favorite.
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”
