The power words.

Post by Ur Dead »

I'm putting it in this froum because of the revealed seventh word.

In the first and second Chroncles the pharse used was:

Melenkurion abatha! Duroc minas mil khabaal

and reveals as:

Melenkurion abatha! Duroc minas mil harad khabaal

But wasn't there a phrase used as:

Melenkurion abatha! Binas mill Bana Nihoram khabaal! Melenkurion abatha! Abatha Nimoram!
I think it comes from LFB, but who said it? or am I imagining it.
What's this silver looking ring doing on my finger?

You're right; the Unfettered One that rescued TC and Atiaran at the Celebration of Spring used that phrase.

Ahh thanks..

Looks like the language of the Elohim could have taken off in it's own right.

Opps for got to spell mill with two L's instead of one.

-2 pts..

Why do you say, "language of the Elohim"? Did I miss that?

Wow, you're right, I had forgotten that. There's so much I've forgotten over the years... gonna have to re-read TCTC next year in its entirety.

And Atiarian says that the Unfettered in Andelain knows more of the Seven Words than anyone she had ever heard. Looks like that statement wasn't entirely correct: the Lords know exactly the same amount that the Unfettered knew, and the extra words aren't part of the Seven Words.

But not at the time of LFB. "Duroc" must've come from the Second Ward.

The "extra words" were the Old Lord language term for Celebration of Spring - Banas Nimoram.

Now I'm pissed off it wasn't that...

Maybe I should ask SRD to include that in the next one through the GI!

Maybe I've gotten so used to that word that I don't even notice it anymore.

But I noticed that "theurgy" seems to be a new favorite on SRD's list.
“...The conversations had a nightmare flatness, talking dice spilled in the tube metal chairs, human aggregates disintegrating in cosmic inanity, random events in a dying universe where everything is exactly what it appears to be and no other relation than juxtaposition is possible.”

“There are two kinds of sufferers in this world: those who suffer from a lack of life, and those who suffer from an overabundance.”

"Meantime we shall express our darker purpose."

"theurgy" is a better word than "magic"... especially in the way the Chrons use language.

Theurgy is to Magic as Poodles are to Dogs.

Assuming there were far, far, far fewer poodles in the world.

"Theurgy" is the ability to command even the gods themselves.

I'm simply paraphrasing m-w.com's definition.
