I'd do something modly about this, but I don't feel like having to defend myself.....
"There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. And with it comes the only basic human duty, the duty to take the consequences." - PJ O'Rourke
_____________
"Men and women range themselves into three classes or orders of intelligence; you can tell the lowest class by their habit of always talking about persons; the next by the fact that their habit is always to converse about things; the highest by their preference for the discussion of ideas." - Charles Stewart
_____________
"I believe there are more instances of the abridgment of the freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments of those in power than by violent and sudden usurpations." - James Madison

Heh, definitely better than the baseball speech.....
Dandelion don't tell no lies
Dandelion will make you wise
Tell me if she laughs or cries
Blow away dandelion

I'm afraid there's no denying
I'm just a dandelion
a fate I don't deserve.

I'd be surprised if JEJ played a role or gave a speech he was opposed to. He's the 800-lb gorilla. If he said those things, I imagine he feels them. You know? Otherwise, he'd have said, "Bite me!"
All lies and jest
Still a man hears what he wants to hear
And disregards the rest
-Paul Simon

Not a monologue, but my favorite dialogue from any film. John Cazale steals the show as Fredo in this scene from The Godfather, Part II. You really have to see and hear Cazale to appreciate how arresting his words are:

Fredo: I didn't know it was going to be a hit, Mike. I swear to God I didn't know it was going to be a hit. Johnny Ola bumped into me in Beverly Hills and he said that he wanted to talk. He said that you and Roth were in on a big deal together and that there was something in it for me if I could help him out. He said that you were being tough on the negotiations but if they could get a little help they'd close the deal fast. It'd be good for the Family...He said there was something in it for me on my own!

Michael: I've always taken care of you, Fredo.

Fredo: Taken care of me! You're my kid brother, you take care of me? Did ya ever think about that, huh? Did ya even once think about that? Send Fredo off to do this! Send Fredo off to do that! Let Fredo take care of some Mickey Mouse nightclub somewhere! Send Fredo to pick somebody up at the airport! I'm your older brother, Mike; and I was stepped over.

Mike: It was the way Pop wanted it.

Fredo: It ain't the way I wanted it! I can handle things; I'm smart. Not like everybody says like dumb; I'm smart, and I want respect!

Michael: Is there anything you can tell me about this investigation? Any more?

Fredo: The Senate lawyer, Questadt, he belongs to Roth.

Michael: Fredo, you're nothing to me now. You're not a brother, you're not a friend. I don't want to know you or what you do. I don't want to see you at the hotels. I don't want you near my house. When you see our mother I want to know a day in advance so I won't be there. You understand?

Fredo: Mikey...

The "Ethics" monologue at the beginning of "Millers's Crossing" is one of my favourite and most perfect beginnings to a movie ever.
