Not quite as clever as Time Bandits, but it certainly is clever. But on the whole, it is a fairy tale that seems pretty obvious what direction it is going, but there certainly is some cruelty for humor's sake, and it would definitely stack this up above many of the rest of the "fairytale" movies. If you've read any Neil Gaiman, you will pretty much know what to expect.

Life is a waste of time
Time is a waste of life
So get wasted all of the time
And you'll have the time of your life

Fixed.IrrationalSanity wrote:The talking bears didn't bug me all that much, beyond being just as predictable as the rest of the characters. IMHO, the fact that they were bears was totally irrelvant. Just another awesome powerful faction in the conflict mix.
Here's the kind of thinking a man can get behind.Anyway I thought it would be rubbish and only went for Iorek (the bear).
In all honesty I was actually disappointed by the bear fight scene.

Sorry, er...
Yeah, real Polar Bear fights aren't exactly spectacular in the typical Hollywood style, but I had a sense of power and struggle from that scene.
It could have been the description in the book adding to the visuals though.
Anyway...
