Sad but true. Maybe the dude's mom did, but more than likely, she got it for free.

Never even heard of it. And from the sounds of it, I'm not missing much.

The DJs on the local station keep enthusing over it, but so far I change stations when it comes on. Meh. . .

it was very disappointing. there is one song on there that isn't bad but really, it's not worth the money. there is a myspace page on it and i think there are samples if you want to give it a try w/out wasting your dough.

My word! I did a search before creating a new topic on Puscifer, and here it is! Yes, they started with a very unusual sound, but if you listen to it more than a few times, some of the song leap out.

They are one of the great bands and musicians of the current generation. They have had a large mix of musicians over the time, the current lineup that seems to be ever increasing is:

Maynard James Keenan
Carina Round
Mat Mitchell
Paul Barker
Jeff Friedl
Mahsa Zargaran

Basically, a bunch of stunning musicians creating stunning music.

I don't think there's much that inspires me more than watching people who are absolutely at the top of their game, performing and creating magic like this band!

Briefly, they started with the album V is for Vagina which is probably where the negative comments above (back in 2008) came from, because it was so significantly different from Tool or A Perfect Circle that it was confronting. And the sexually explicit themes were also very confronting. The musical style is very different also.

The next major release was Conditions of My Parole which is a revelation! I was lucky enough to see them live on this tour and it was an amazing stage show, and felt like a bunch of musicians doing their thing.

The latest album is Money Shot which is the most incredibly brilliant thing I've heard for so long I can't remember. I saw them recently in Hobart (which is an amazing thing in itself as so many bands don't come here). They played at a vineyard and art museum known as MONA - the Museum of Old and New Art, which is a winery and contains one of the most incredible collections of modern and ancient art. Perhaps it isn't surprising since Maynard has a vineyard, and is very arty :D

Just a fantastic concert. Catrina Round is unbelievable. Musicians from Ministry, Ashes Divide and Devo, Tool, A Perfect Circle. The harmonies contribute to an incredible sonic experience. It's 'blow you away' territory.

Anyway, that's my opinion :D

Here's a few songs for you to make up your own mind!

Catrina Round turns everyone on with Rev 22:00

One of the new songs called The Remedy

Another new one: Agostina

From Conditions of My Parole: Green Valley

And another: Oceans

And back to the start: Momma Sed which is the album everyone was unhappy about above!

I could go on with song after awesome song, but I've rambled enough for now!

As Maynard says: "Life's too short to not be creative with every breath we take"

I'll have to check out the new stuff.

Ki is my wife, btw. She hasn't been active on this site for years. She might be encouraged to hear the new stuff is better.

But seriously, where the hell is the new Tool album?!?

I remember Ki from when I first joined the Watch. I'm pretty sure I saw her name in the Tool thread (maybe the one that was deleted...).

So, Tool have been caught up with a large lawsuit apparently, and I believe it's finally settled. So in theory we should see a new Tool album in the next 12-18 months (I'll come back and check my prediction one day!).

If you're reading, Ki, you really should check out Puscifer's new stuff - start with Conditions of my Parole. When I first listened to it, I couldn't stop for months. It's high quality music in my opinion:

Ki loves the new stuff, especially the women background singers. The Mission M is one of her favs.

I'm glad to hear it, naturally :)

The female background singers are awesome. The Remedy, I linked it above, has some great harmonies.

Have a listen to Life of Brian

At about 0:58 or so, the singing kicks in.
