it would seem so. they base the timers on statistical data. I try not to watch too much. still it's interesting.

it's probably pretty accurate. a simple formula to divide number of deaths say within a years time and then display it in real time. I think the data is old tho, so it may actually be going faster, I highly doubt slower tho.

good point, I don't think we'll be watching the news and all of a sudden see a big jump in the numbers there. it'll average it out over time. it's prolly like the National Debt clock and other stuff....

but it means there must be some point where no one dies or is born. if you could gather those seconds up...

....what would you do with them? actually, considering the sources of the data, and the fact that a good chunk of people live and the things that happen are off the books so to speak, I'd say it's more of a ballpark average, which leaves alot of room either way. I don't think they meant it to be anything more than amusing anyway, or at the very least thought-provoking.
