The Galley Foodie Awards!! Voting is Open

Well, the Watchies are upon us once again. And the Galley is actually represented fairly well. But, since I suspect most Watchies voters don't frequent the Galley, I think perhaps we should have our own awards right here.

So, what categories should we consider?

-Best recipe
-Best thread
-Funniest thread
-Best individual post
-Funniest individual post

...what else...?

Since this is the first awards, should we allow all posts from the beginning of the Galley to be considered? Or just concentrate on 2007?

Please post suggestions for categories here. I'll leave that open until New Years. Then nominations and voting will take place simultaneously with the Watchies, with nominations ending on the 14th of January, and voting following however long VS sets the Watchies voting to be.

I can not promise that Jay will make an award icon for this. But I do promise I'll ask him about it.

Sound good?

Yay! Foodie awards! OH, and I say at least this first time around everything in the Galley should be eligible. 8)
Now if I could just find a way to wear live bees as jewelry all the time.....

Keep the Index of Recipes in mind to look up recipes, so you don't have to go through all of the posts to find them.

You know, I replied to this thread this morning, noticed I had an inordinate amount of WGD, and then the whole thing went kaput. I couldn't get it to load at all. So I went home from work, and logged in from here. Tonight, I have 0 WGD. I am now sad. :cry:

Yeah. . . when I didn't know I had any, it was cool. Then I thought I had a lot, and then they left. . . I can see where this could cause problems! :)

The Voting for the Foodies is open!
It looks like we only had one nomination in most of the categories that had nominations, so I declare those will automatically be the winners.
But, Funniest Thread has a poll that is now open until next Sunday (following the deadline for the Watchies, don't forget to vote there as well).
So...choose the funniest thread!

...and maybe next year we'll have more participation...
