And I will tell you that I have been well trained in resisting the Voice, so it would be useless to try it. Amusing, possibly, but useless nonetheless. :P

As far as earthblood. . . well, I can't say that I could resist that. But ordering me to drive hundreds of miles to eat sushi seems a little odd, in light of what other things you might do. :P

Well, I'm not one for gross displays of power.

That, and I do have some few morals.

Wait. You're trained to resist Voice?

Are you a Reverend Mother?

One of my best friends, who I haven't seen in two years, just surprised me by coming to town. He's in the Air Force and was stationed in South Korea, but now he's had some leave because he's about to be in Germany for three years. Had a nice but short get-together with him. He left early because the wife hadn't seen him in a year, so. ;)

8O You do? ;)

No. . . Muad'Dib trained guards to resist the Voice. If you know what is happening you can work to resist it. :P

I always thought there was a difference between what Muad'Dib did to his guards and what the mentats like Idaho and Teg were able to do in resisting voice. Idaho and Pre-T Probe Teg would never have been able to actually kill a Reverend Mother. They were not compelled by Voice, but it still took them a non-neglibible amount of time to resist it. The Death Commandos, on the other hand, didn't seem to have the same problem (Stilgar was able to kill Mohiam, for example.)

Of course, we only have one instance of someone immune to voice killing a Reverend Mother, and we don't know with Mohiam put up a fight or not. She probably didn't.

Keep in mind that Lyr's only read through God Emperor of Dune. Ran out of steam. . . more or less. :D

That's a shame. Heretics and Chapterhouse are my two favourite books in the series. :P
