Ahhh yes. That show was such a shamelessly voyeuristic ode to the excesses of the rich and famous...how could anyone not watch it? I did. Although now I recall very little of what I saw. After a certain point, all the mansions, yachts and rolls royces become a blur. :P

People find me weird because I STARE. RIGHT AT YOU. INTENSELY!! If people say hi I respond by MOVING RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEM AND STARING RIGHT INTO THEIR FACE UNTIL THEY BACK DOWN!!!

Basically the main time I don't say hi is...big cities. I would run out of breath trying to greet everyone jammed next to me on the subway.
I hold the door open for anyone, man woman or child...half the time I've got an armload of boxes, and should be the one getting the door held open for...but I don't...and I've never had anyone get bothered by it...man or woman.
Same. States in which I've held the door open often enough to be something of an authority on it are are suburban NJ, ohio, indiana, texas, NYC (a city).

In deference to this thread, I found myself asking a lady holding a baby and a small container of milk in one hand and a hot coffee in the other hand if she wanted me to open the door for her. Usually I'd just do it.

The few times I've carted around baby Cait (my goddaughter) with me I've been absolutely thrilled when someone opened a door. Those carseats are terrible to lug around--especially when they have a 13lb munchkin inside! 8O
