The Power of Command
saw this great picture in a National Geographic that I found on a train, the caption even describes the iron-rich water of this river in Waterton as the 'life blood' of the Earth ..

Andy Goldsworthy has this dvd out about his art, which is all based on nature, where he finds these iron-rich rocks under the current and stones in a river and spends hours crushing them up into dust that he then makes into red mudballs which he then throws back into the water.
This picture reminds me of that. His whole bit is about how the color red is so violent, yet so essential to our nature. The Power of Command has been used twice in the Chronicles, and both uses have ended in some sick violence, not unlike what the stuff must look like all red like this picture.
I know my post here is a bit off topic, but check it out: "Rivers and Tides" Goldsworthy's dvd is called. Cool stuff.
