:::double post, sorry:::

I went to the library today, and the rest of the Erikson books are now ordered. They tell me it can take three months to come in, but as slow as I'm reading DT, that's not a problem.

*make that triple post*

:hithead:

I still have yet to begin reading GotM, but both Beorn and Hyperception have finished and the Malazan talk flies about me...

So...
Everything else on my reading list that I wanted to read before I tackled Malazan is on hold. Instead, since I have a copy of Gardens of the Moon courtesy of Luci, I returned with the following from the library...

Dead House Gates
Memories of Ice
House of Chains

...and...
Midnight Tides

There was a fifth book on order with a publishing date of 2008, I don't recall the title offhand.

Am I missing any titles? Return date is May 11th. B"H for unlimited renewal.

...I love Gator Town's local library...everyone told me there was no way I would find these books in the library, and these weren't even inter-library loan...

(Hyperception and Beorn are ecstatic I finally broke down and checked the series out of the library)

You have the first 5 in the right order.

OK...the library has Bonehunters and Reaper's Gale on hold for me. I'll pick them up during my running around tomorrow.

Are there any others I need to request they purchase, or put on hold?

Nope, that's all of them; though you might want to have a look at Night of Knives, Ian C Esselmont's first Malazan novel, about the night that Emperor Kellanved was assassinated.

Way to go! Now you've spoiled the whole series of books for her!!!!

Oh, yeah. Telling her about the event that happens in between the first book's prologue and the rest of the series is really going to ruin things. I'm cruel like that. :P
Spoiler
Hell, what I said about the book isn't even technically true.

*above comments flying over head*

...I really should begin reading the darn thing...

Hyperception is still on Deadhouse Gates, but Beorn is off and running with The Bonehunters. I really do wish he would come post his thoughts here.

They really are great, seriously epic in every sense of the word. They are incredibly deep in scope, and never take things too lightly! There is almost no such thing as an unimportant event in that series. (well kinda) :)

...but please, most people have questions and are especially confused (yet incredibly intrigued) by the end of book one. So ask away and I (and i'm sure all of you) will happily clear things up about his world.

Considering how long I've been here I'm sure most of that has been told to you already though. I'd just like to say, be ready for many, many, many characters. It's like real life, everyone has a story.

Thanks Nequam. I have been encouraged to pick up this series for a long time (right Luci?). I just have so many other works to read first, before I tackle a series of such scope.
