Stunned and Amazed

Post by Menolly »

So...

Beorn and I are here at home and the doorbell rings. It's a mailman with a parcel. Not expecting anything, I greet him and prepare to tell him it must have been mislabled.

Looking at the lable I see it is addressed to me.
From the UK.
Say what?
I don't recognize the name on the return address, especially since the first name given is only an initial, except possibly as a famous American comedian. And the return address makes no sense to me. I can't even tell what city in the UK the parcel came from.

I accept the parcel, come inside, and slowly open it, taking care to reserve the mailing lable in case I need it to return what ever it is.

The carton is filled with bubble wrap. On top is a handwritten note, in much better penmenship than I'll ever have. It says...
Hey Menolly!

I hope you like Eastern dragons as much as you like Western ones! The one with the orb is called 'Gin' & the one without, 'Ger.' :)

Hope you like them.

Stonemaybe.
OMGs...

*tears*

Inside are two beautiful dragon figurines. They shall take a place of honor among the few collectibles I have.

Stoney...

Thank you.
I don't know why you chose to send these to me, but they are beautiful.

Now...how did you get my address? That's one bit of information we have not exchanged.

The dragons were lonely, they'd been banished from my mantel by pics of nephews and nieces.

They needed a good home, and who better than a former goddess of dragons?

As for the address, well, you're not the only board member at that address, are you? I just asked one of the others.... :D

Did I tell you before I had gotten this? Cause if not, I finally did.

...and here I've been trying to put Korean meaning to the names...

Yes'm!!!

It's been a couple of months since Ger and Gin showed up at my door, and I still get a huge smile and warm fuzzy feeling everytime I see them.

Again, my thanks, Stone.
