Could have sworn I posted this earlier today but I must have been mistaken. Too many distractions at work to really remember.
I was hoping someone here may be able to give me some info on Seattle. Have you ever lived or travelled there? Could you suggest places to see and things to do? Any good sites to give me good info would be much appreciated.
To make this slightly more interactive - maybe share any travel plans you have for the upcoming months?

I know very little about Seattle, other than the music scenen in the nineties.
And of course, that classic episode of Scoody Doo with the fire monster that ate buildings that were still under construction.
My only bit of advise, is that you try to book a flight that has a stop-over in Halifax Int'l.

For detailed information on Seattle, you'll have to wait for Waddley or Balon to notice the thread. In the meantime, I would suggest you bring a raincoat. If you're going out that way I heard that Olympic National Park is a great place to visit, if you like the outdoors.

I don't think its that far off. The friend I plan to visit in Vancouver says Banff is lovely - Especially for the skiiing I think.

The girls and I vacationed in Oregon and Washington several years ago. You'll love it, Chrysalis! (As long as it's not raining....)
Pike Place Market is way cool. We also did the monorail and the Space Needle -- those two things had been on my list of Stuff I Want to See Before I Die for *decades* (long story why...). There's also a Seattle Underground tour that was actually pretty interesting.
Let's see, what else? If you want to do outdoorsy stuff: we hiked Snoqualmie Falls with the girls' aunt, uncle and cousins -- that was fun. Mt. Ranier is pretty close, and Mt. St. Helens is only a few hours away. We didn't get to Olympic National Park, but I hear it's an amazing place.

The Undergound tour does sound good - that would definitely be on the 'to do' list.
We would probably do some outdoors stuff. The plan would be fly to Seattle, then drive to Vancouver - then back to Seattle to fly home. I'm sure there are many thngs to do on the way.

When I was a kid, my parents and I used to take a long-distance driving vacation every summer (which is how I racked up visits to most of the states in the US of A). I was all excited when Dad decided we'd do the top of the country, including the state of Washington. I wanted to see the monorail and the Space Needle in Seattle, which were both pretty new at that time. Plus I had a moderate crush on Bobby Sherman from "Here Come the Brides", a TV show which was supposedly about Seattle's early days.
Anyway, Dad was not a city kind of guy. We approached Seattle -- there's the Space Needle in the distance! -- and kept on driving. Detoured around the whole city. (Come to think of it, we might have actually driven through Olympic National Park on that trip. I was too disappointed about missing Seattle to notice the scenery...)
Anyway. After he did the same thing to me in LA, I started a list of places I was going to go back to and actually *visit*, dammit. I think I've pretty much seen them all now....
