Indiana Jones should be #1 worst.

Yeah, The Happening deserved to be on the list, but it was better than Jones and far less disappointing.
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

I'm surprised 88 Minutes wasn't on there.

I was sad about 88 minutes... the preview looked so good, yet the movie was so pointless.

Pointless is a great way to describe it.

Surprised that Speedracer didn't make the list. Aside from looking fantastic, I thought it was worthless.

Home and read it now. Fortunately, I only saw Indiana Jones and The Happening... both were horrible.

The worst film of 2008 will be The Spirit. And also the worst film since Manos.

Oh...ouch. That statement is so bold it could open its own hot sauce company.

The Happening could have been so cool too.

"Hurry, our small group has to outrun the wind!" just killed me though.

The Happening Cliff Notes:
(for those who haven't seen it)
(Warning! Massive spoilers!)

A woman acts like she's on drugs. She stabs herself in the eye.

A construction worker walks off a building. His coworkers, instead of trying to help him, stand there and cry like girls before throwing themselves off buildings.

M Night: Come on guys, this movie's not that bad! You don't have to kill yourselves over it!

Mark Wahlberg: Bees have been dying for no reason. Let's mindlessly berate scientists for not explaining it, just like they can't really explain anything else, either!

School Principal: There appears to be an EVENT happening.

More people die.

Mark's Wife: I ate a muffin with another man!

Mark: You crackin' whore!

They run through the grass.

Mark: It's the air! The air will make us kill ourselves!

They hide inside, even though there is still air there.

Mark & Wife: Forget it, let's just die!

They walk outside. They don't die.

Newsman on TV: That "event" several months ago was really pointless and dull, but at least it hasn't happened since then.

French guy in Paris kills himself (he probably saw the movie).

The End.

Yah - that pretty much sums up The Happening. You did leave out the part where Leguizamo offs himself, but you can see it coming from far away - kind of like if the earth decided one day to crash into the sun, except without any of the anticipation.

I didn't see The Happening, but a co-worker did. He's convinced it's the worst film he's ever seen. But I'll have to ask him just how many films he's actually seen.

Anyway, he revealed the big story twist to me (because I asked him to), and yes, it sounded...inane to me.

For me, it was Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull.

I liked the Happening...

...but I had also heard bad things about it and did some research...so I wasn't expecting much. I can see why people didn't like it, but I did: **1/2 out of ****
