Found it in Barnes and Nobles the other day. I bought it as a service to the Watch so that I could scan a nice image for everyone to see. And yep...it still sucks.-jay

HA! Yes, and no offense toward SRD who does not share our appreciation of Sweet's covers. They did, however, get my young imagination and curiosity flowing. Perhaps I wouldn't have bought these books to begin with if they had more mundane covers. I do understand however that SRD would not like such cartoonish covers to appear on his works of literature. The problem is, if there is literature to be appreciated between the covers, the first step is to get potential readers to crack open the book. And I think that's all Sweet's covers were designed to do. On the other hand, if SRD truly only expected a few people to read his books, then more literary covers would have done the trick well. And so from the perspective of sales, Sweet's covers would be a form of necessary evil.dlbpharmd wrote:Damn straight.TheWormoftheWorld'sEnd wrote:Darrell K. Sweet rules.
Likewise, SRD stated in the GI that he abhorred his young son reading Xanth novels. But he also understands that giving him something more in depth to read at that age may have frightened him away from books. I myself am a prime example of a young reader who started with Xanth and then eventually graduated to Donaldson.

Thanks for the cover scan, Jay! (Even though you think it sucks.)
I like it. It's a more distinctive cover than the one Whelan did. It did remind me of the cover for The Mists of Avalon, but I checked and it was a different artist.
I guess there is just no love for Palencar at KW. (Except when his art shows up as Assatars.)

Yeah, I think I must request a butt on the cover of AATE or TLD so I can use it for an avatar. Whose butt? I don't care really...even if it's Esmers butt...oh no...hang on...the Harrow does it for me! I want his butt! What's that I hear: you only want women's bottoms! Even if it's Linden's?matrixman wrote:I guess there is just no love for Palencar at KW. (Except when his art shows up as Assatars.)

But the title is "Against All Things Ending". Surely someone's end will figure in somewhere.

I see! I was not aware this was a "new" cover!
My God, they're right though! That does look like Elijah Wood!
