Go look up some disgusting medical conditions, Sarge, and every time she complains of something, reply along the lines of "you think that's bad, my scabies has been playing up" or whatever, and go into gruesome detail of your 'complaint'.sgt.null wrote:our son's girlfriend (mother of her 2nd child) is a black hole of unpleasantness) she watches tv all day and all night. complains about everything and is horrible to the boy. and living at our house for the foreseeable future.

we took them to see ZZ Top at the rodeo. after i wanted the keepsake pin and to hit the petting zoo. she whined so much we left her on a bench and went and did it anyway. we payed for the damned tickets and she wants to dictate when we leave?
so i got to pet goats, sheep, deer, a llama and a donkey. they had a kangaroo baby - but off limits. i fed them all to my hearts content.

Today has been really strange.
Item 1: Spring break is over, and classes have resumed. I didn't start doing the homework for those classes until late last night, and I've already turned in everything I did.
Item 2: Instead of being sent in circles by administration, administration ran in circles for me, and solved my problems in a way that seems fair (and doesn't cost me extra money!).
Item 3: My sister called me to ask what the definition of Pig Latin was, and both her linguistics professor and her boyfriend were wrong. She made me tell the definition directly to her boyfriend, and then gloated over his defeat.
Item 4: My sister then asked me where the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans were. (I thought she was smarter than that?)
Item 5: In the past 16 hours, the temperature of my room has dropped 5.2 degrees Fahrenheit, and it is still way too hot in here (it was nearly 90 last night). Temperatures outside have been just above freezing for the last several days.
Item 6: I'm hyper and melancholy all at once. I wish it would rain more. Despair is fun.
Item 7: At lunch today I threatened to enact a Ritual of Desecration, and nobody would take me seriously. Not even the other person at the table who has read TCTC and knows what a Ritual of Desecration entails. They'll be sorry when they suddenly live in a godforsaken wasteland. Oh, wait, we already do. Never mind.
Item 8: I really ought to be doing my homework. What's due again?
Item 9: I really ought to keep better track of my to-do list, but that requires actually writing one.
Item 10: Can it be Spring Break again? Like now? No? Drat.

Thank you on her behalf!Menolly wrote:woo-hoo!
Care to share any details?
Did she get a fellowship?
What school?
Is she happy with the campus she'll be attending?
Congratulations Batty!
University of Denver. Masters in library science. And that's all I know. They notified her by e-mail this morning; a packet is on the way.
I am amazed anew by how lucky this kid is. For undergrad, she applied to one college -- and got in. For grad school, she applied to one school -- and got in.
Now all she has to do is pass all her classes this semester....

Thanks! As I told somebody earlier today: one down, one to go!
They told Batty during the interview that they would be making their decisions over their spring break (which was last week) and notifying the applicants in late March or early April. So I was prepared to sweat it out for another week and a half. Glad we didn't have to!
