Bow to Leper Messai-yuhhh!

Metallica's music seems, IMO, almost inadvertantly synonymous with the vibe from TCTC and what Cov goes through...

Not Leper Messiah in particular, other than the name, but think about all their other songs: Harvester of Sorrows, Fade to Black, Master of Puppets, Call of Khtula, House That Jack Built, etc...

Hetfield seems to go deep with his music, deep enough to truly represent a leper's journey...

I think their music would be perfect for the credits to a film and a viral net marketing campaign!

But I'm biased, their riffs are almost everything I can play, I've seen 'em twice in concert, once front row and I pretty much know most all their songs by heart, used to own all their albums back when I bought music...

I hear you... I used to play alot of Metallica when i was in HS.. I figured out alot of the songs by ear. Lepper Messiah came out on Master of Puppets when I was about 16-17, I had read TCTC at age 12 or so and when I heard Lepper Messiah I instantly looked at the lyric sheet that came with the Vinyl...I was expecting a direct association with TCTC through the song and found it sounded more like a bash on Evangelism so i had been wondering for years what the inspiration was.

I think it would be a good song for an intro to the movie or the ending credits. maybe even the scene when he gets kicked out of the circus tent church revival while trying to get healed in the beginning of the Illearth War.

when I read the Chronicles I always had songs like Ramble on, Gallows Howe, and The Battle of Evermore in my head. something about the sound of Zeppelin reminded me of the land...not sure why until I found out Jimmy Page was a huge fan of LOTR. they even use Gollums name in Ramble on.

While I've enjoyed Metallica's albums, I always remain rooted in the "real" world when I hear their songs. If this hypothetical TCTC soundtrack must be hard rock or heavy metal-based, I would have to go with a Led Zep song. Led Zep's sound has a mystical quality that is able to engage my "fantastical" imagination better.

I said this before in another thread, but I think When The Levee Breaks makes for an astounding musical accompaniment to the scene of Kinslaughterer at Coercri when he's attempting to break...well, everything, including the levee.

Metallica died back in 1986 in a bus accident in Sweden. MoP was the last good album and the band was never the same again after that.
