Shark Movies

They came close to it with that sub-genre of underwater-nazi-zombie-horror movies in the '70s. Only seen a couple. Shockwaves is the best. I don't remember a single shark in either of them. There was a stone fish death, though.

If we can throw in tv, the show Surface had a lot of nasty little moments with giant sea monsters eating people and boats.

For me, the most memorable sea monster remains the giant squid from 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea. That attack sequence made a big impression on me.
Also, anybody else remember watching that "giant turtle" TV movie from the 70's? It was called The Bermuda Depths. It's pretty obscure now. I've forgotten much of the movie myself except for the monster turtle, and Carl Weathers being dragged into the ocean depths by said turtle (heh). Here's a fairly in-depth synopsis of the story, for those (like me) who have a peculiar nostalgia for this movie:

Often sought out as the “giant turtle movie” or “that movie with the girl with glowing green eyes” by IMDB.com and Ebay searchers who cannot remember the film’s title, it’s rarely seen anywhere anymore, and this is a great shame because it is unlike other films.
I think this could quite possibly be the greatest film ever made.
