Going to Batty's college graduation.
Then to WV with the girls for a few days. Back to town in time (the gods willing and the traffic on I-81 and I-66 don't choke) to attend my very first Decennial Dinner, which is what our firm calls it when it takes everybody who's worked there for at least 10 years out to eat. My anniversary isn't 'til November, but they're gonna feed me this year anyhow.

I went to Alton Towers (probably the largest theme park in the UK) with a bunch of strangers from Deviant Art. And I don't mean people I just haven't met in person before - I mean people I've never had any form of contact with. Total strangers.
Some of the rides were disappointing. Though they terrified me the last time I was there, they're mostly pretty tame after Six Flags in California last summer. Only three of them really got me interested: Air (I've never been on anything else like that), Oblivion (vertical drop...though it's changed and isn't as good as it used to be), and Rita (0-60mph horizontally in about three seconds). They're also really short compared to the Californian ones.
Three of the eleven DA people were reasonably friendly to me, though unfortunately I only actually liked two of those. The other eight people either completely blanked me as though I didn't exist, or actively tried to make me feel uncomfortable (for instance, the girl who organised the day - and repeatedly advertised that anyone was welcome - kept pointing out throughout the day that I was only person who didn't know anyone). Bleh. It was ok, but I don't think I'd go to another.

Assisted the wife as best I could in giving birth to Desmond Rhys Geldof Miller (yes, two middle names). I'm a proud daddy, and will probably have to apologize over the oncoming weeks for it.

I'm sure to have more later.

I'm sure to have more later.

I have a DM too - in fact I've got a matching pair of them. (Though luckily no-one had to give birth to themAssisted the wife as best I could in giving birth to Desmond Rhys Geldof Miller (yes, two middle names). Congratulations, Cag!

And for some reason I thought you were female (probably because of your siggy).Cagliostro wrote:Assisted the wife as best I could in giving birth to Desmond Rhys Geldof Miller (yes, two middle names). I'm a proud daddy, and will probably have to apologize over the oncoming weeks for it.

Congrats, my mang and welcome to the club. It takes a man to be a father. And only fathers are real men.

P.S. Guess we will have to tell y'all later why Aliantha and I are shacked up in a hotel in San Francisco nursing hangovers......
P.P.S. from ali: Don't believe a freakin' word she says!

This weekend is complicated and fun. Will post some details later. I think I am in shock over two things, first, not working six days a week! and two, having Ali's laptop to peruse the watch on since my laptop died a sad and painful death and needs to be put to rest which leaves me watchless at home for another few months....

Now if I could just find a way to wear live bees as jewelry all the time.....

It's been glorious weather here today, so I spent an energetic day lazing on my new birthday hammock, reading The Kite Runner and listening to mellow tunes.
Then I cooked up a wonderful curry, drank some wine, and I'm closing the day in perfect fashion, perusing KW!
