AirFrance Flight 447
I will readily admit that I do not know much about this...but shouldn't the black box be sending out a beacon as to where this plane went down? For some reason I thought that these things could send out signals from far below the surface of the ocean.
They still cannot locate any debris field or the spot that the plane went down.
Again...I do not profess to know much about these things, but I just thought that a signal would have been able to be traced to where the black box was located at. It may not be necessarily retrievable, but at least locatable.

I was stunned to learn that most airliners aren't even equipped with a simple GPS system! I forget the reason why but it was something stupid.

I dunno...the more that I think about this, the more strange it becomes.
Debris found was not from flight 447? What about the oil slick that they located? What about the orange buoys? Where did this stuff come from if not flight 447?
Nothing found from flight 447?
I am not suggesting anything other than the facts that were given. Nothing more, nothing less.
Strange, indeed.

This was my thought too. I thought this was the purpose of black boxes? Still, it's easy to forget when looking at a map, just how big the world is!jelerak wrote:I will readily admit that I do not know much about this...but shouldn't the black box be sending out a beacon as to where this plane went down? ELF can be used. I wonder if they use that.Murrin wrote:Water is pretty bad for getting radio signals out of.
