Epic!

Interesting time signature in the first song/part, amazing bass, and impressive lead guitar. The second part "You by my Side" is more pleasing, melody-wise. The first part is more "wow they're amazing musicians", but doesn't grab me straight away.

Is he God? Pretty close - I'd worship him over other Gods... :P

Squire isn't God. He's a pretty interesting bassist though. I really like the stuff he did with XYZ (Jimmy Page and Alan White).

Thanks!

Squire is my favorite bassist, and also my original inspiration to become a bass player myself. I've been playing for almost forty years.

The action on my first bass was so bad that I compare it to dragging telephone wires to the ground with your fingers.

I saw Squire and YES in concert back in '77. Chris looks a little less like Frankenstein nowadays than he did back then. :)

Always been a fan of the man. There are a number of bassists that are...more 'technically proficient' [for lack of a better phrase...and not that he isn't that...he sure as hell is.]...but he's much the same as David Gilmour and guitar: He's just tasty...riffs and lots of notes are fun...but the right notes at the right time...yummmmm.[/b]

the hyperbole is a beauty...for we are then allowed to say a little more than the truth...and language is more efficient when it goes beyond reality than when it stops short of it.

Chris is freaking awesome. He's definitely an influence; he and McCartney were the first bass players I paid attention to.

Having just played your link to Hold Out Your Hand/You by my Side which you posted in The Hangar, I can understand more why you say this...

Squire is awesome!
Sweet peace come to me
Calm the chaos churning within
Sweet Jesus enwrap me
Enlighten my heart so dim

My soul seeks Thee
In breathless desperation it cries
Sweet Jesus enwrap me
As my body slowly dies...

I was trying to quote Danlo's post - when it disappeared!

Anyway, Roundabout was the first yessong I ever heard too, but the one you linked us to was Close To The Edge.

Damn excellent version I might add.

WOW! Jon Anderson's voice is better than it's ever been!

sorry...It was Close to the Edge and turned out to be a faulty video: it was great quality but horrible editing -will bump my old Yes thread.

Roundabout was my first yessong. OK here's the video I canceled-astounding musicianship, absolutely fantastic Anderson vocals-horrible and distributing editing (listen at your own risk) Close to the Edge.
