Yeah, it's too bad that you're only able to read books once ;)

A Traumatic Brain Injury might allow for a repetition of the virgin reading experience, but could prove to be not worth it in the long run. :)

Could you imagine having a type of brain damage that made you forget things after, say, three months?

It's kind of like that ad they played when MiB was in theatres, where they showed the flashy thing and said "MiB: See it again, for the first time!" :)

Actually, I experienced an almost-virgin reading of the Earthsea Trilogy recently. I hadn't read it since 1980, and except for a couple of incomplete memories it was like reading it for the first time. It was nothing like I remembered, which is probably why I hadn't re-read it since.

Of course, that could also be a comment on my 20-year old imagination vs. the almost 50. :?

But I can't imagine not reading anything of SRD for as long.

Every once in a while I pick up a book that I comepletely can't remember reading. (Right now: Inversions. Just before: Saturn's Race.) Then I read them and realize why they were so forgettable.
