But now, it sounds as though the Fringe co-creators may actually be considering resurrecting Khan, who's still sleeping in his little suspended-animation capsule in their revamped timeline. So just in case they're really serious about this, here's a list of reasons why a new Khan would be a terrible, epically bad idea:
If this is serious, I'm going on a shooting spree.

Khan in the next Trek film?

Certain people can never be replaced. Charlton Heston as Judas Ben-Hur, Marlon Brando as the Godfather, and Ricardo Montalban as... well, any d*** role he played

Of the two (Star Wars and Star Trek) I am probably more of a Trek fan, but the thing Trek never really had (I thought) was great Villains and certainly not villains that stayed alive long enough to be regular counterparts to the heroes. The Klingons and Borg are always there in the respective series, but they are generic with few characters ever really embodying the menace of Darth Vader.
As opponents went Khan was awesome, full 3D with the tragic underwriter that tho' a bit mad he had some good in there that had been crushed by the universe. So I can see why they'd try to resurrect him, but I think we need more as without a truly great villan there are no great heroes. Casting is also important here the best villains have been those with the best actors playing the villain (except maybe Bana which was a bit weak). But Malcolm McDowell, Alice Krige and of course Montalban really lifted their movies in ways the others did not.
