I put off reading A Song of Ice and Fire for years, knowing the series wasn't done yet. But people kept telling me how great it was, and I broke down... now I'm halfway through Storm of Swords (just got through the aftermath of Edmure's wedding ) and I realize that ADWD is still no closer to being finished than it was last year when I bought the first 4 books for my kindle...
I am kicking myself... hard! I should have held out - I'm not sure I can survive the wait for a new book when I get to the end of Crows

I was hoping the production of the pilot would spur GRRM into action on ADWD... but there has been no evidence of that so far.
I wonder what happens when this HBO series ends up being a big success and they film multiple seasons... and catch up to the rest of us waiting for the next book
