The Killers are on the wane a bit over here. Their first album was hugely popular, their second is being played to death, and I for one am getting sick of it!

They're good live though! Seen them at Glastonbry, and a couple of friends caught them in Vegas last year (they couldn't believe how small the venue was, they were stadium-fillers here at the time).

Human annoys me, every time I hear it, I think I'm about to hear Parachute by Something Happens a song I've always liked. (But I suppose I shouldn't complain - it does, after all, sound like a song I like!)

I don't care much for Human and it was a bit overplayed, but I really like The Killers. One of the better pop groups in recent years. I like most of the songs on Hot Fuss and Sams Town. Haven't really listened to Day and Age.

I like the stuff they did on Sam's Town and Sawdust. Hot Fuss and Day and Age are more just okay for me.

Yeah, the Killers pumped them out pretty fast in a few years.

I agree with the rec on Sawdust. Much better than I expected from songs rejected from the first two albums. Sam's Town didn't grab me. Day & Age I liked much better.

First album is still probably their best overall.

The biggest problem with this band, from what I read confirmed by what I hear, is they don't really know who or what kind of band they want to be.

They're all right. I detect some beauty and mature emotional perspective in their output.

READ MY MIND
(Written by Brandon Flowers, Dave Brent Keuning, Mark August Stoermer, Ronnie Vannucci Jr.)

On the corner of main street
Just tryin' to keep it in line
You say you wanna move on, and
You say I'm falling behind
Can you read my mind?
Can you read my mind?

I never really gave up on
Breakin' out of this two-star town
I got the green light
I got a little fight

I'm gonna turn this thing around
Can you read my mind?
Can you read my mind?
The good old days, the honest man
The restless heart, the Promised Land

A subtle kiss that no one sees
A broken wrist and a big trapeze
Oh well, I don't mind, you don't mind
Cause I don't shine if you don't shine
Before you go, can you read my mind?

It's funny how you just break down
Waiting on some sign
I pull up to the front of your driveway
With magic soaking my spine
Can you read my mind?
Can you read my mind?

The teenage queen, the loaded gun
The drop dead dream, the Chosen One
A southern drawl, the world unseen
A city wall and a trampoline
Oh well, I don't mind, you don't mind
'Cause I don't shine if you don't shine

Before you jump
Tell me what you find
When you read my mind
Slipping in my faith until I fall
He never returned that call
Woman, open the door, don't let it sting
I wanna breathe that fire again
She said, "I don't mind, you don't mind.
"'Cause I don't shine if you don't shine."

Put your back on me
Put your back on me
Put your back on me
The stars are blazing like rebel diamonds cut out of the sun
When you read my mind
