ballot is being compiled.

I am concerned about starting it before Tuesday though, as I am going to Animal Kingdom over the three day weekend and if we do have a good response I worry some PMd votes may drop out of my Inbox. We would have to have a huge response for that to happen, but I would rather be home and receiving the ballot PMs as they come in, then risk losing one and not knowing. The risk of dropping PMs was one reason why I thought of having the votes emailed.

Would everyone be cool with Tuesday as the day the ballot goes up and voting officially opens?

Here's a suggestion, Menolly. We each get one ballot sent to us, so PM those to us. You, OTOH, you'll potentially get a boatload of ballots sent to you, so we email them back. I don't see why that won't work.

The ballot will be posted in a locked thread, as Cail suggested.
Everyone can copy, paste it, and delete everything from it other than the categories they are voting in and the listed nominee they are voting for. Easy peasy.

Emailing the ballot to me is what I meant by email from the start. An address to send the ballots to. I had no intent of emailing anyone.

But someone mentioned privately to me that some Watchers do not share their email, so they may not be comfortable responding via email to vote. If the same number of voters vote this year as last year, I have nothing to worry about; it won't even fill up one page of my Inbox. But I am hoping the forum spamming and the mass emails from the admins will encourage a larger response. We shall see.

The ballot has been compiled and verified for accuracy.
It will be posted on Tuesday, February 16th, which will launch the start of voting through Monday, February 22nd at midnight GMT.

The nomination category threads have now been opened for discussion and commentary. Feel free to post thanks for nominations or to sell your candidate for the category or whatever.

Let the campaigning begin! ;)

Okay, how many WGD will it take to win the funniest watcher of the year? Do I need to buy votes or just hand what I have over to Menolly for a "miscount?"

They can burn a hole in your pocket. Because they're made of very hot electrons.

An FYI Watchy Announcement:

As the ballots come in, I am moving them to my "Save" PM box, in the hopes they do not become lost in the shuffle of other PMs I receive. By moving them they appear as though they have been read. This is not the case. I will not open the ballots until voting is closed, and will then start compiling the results.

Also, if anyone has any questions regarding submitting the ballot, feel free to ask here or to PM me.

I would like to remind those submitting to please subject their ballot as 2009 Watchies Ballot when they PM it to me. Those who have already submitted who sent it under a different subject are OK, as will any future ones I receive with a different subject. But I would rather be certain a PM is a ballot without opening it before I move it to my "Save" PM box.

Thanks all. :)
