Iron man has been MY comic book hero since I was about 12 years old. Relegated to B status for most of his existence I've always had to watch other people's heroes (Batman, Superman, Hulk, Spiderman, X-Men) get the blockbuster movie treatment. Then Iron Man 1 came along and I couldn't have been happier. Pretty much a dream come true.
Having said all that I'm not sure what I'm seeing here in this trailer for IM2. I've seen this before but I don't yet grasp where this is going.
I get the Whiplash thing, I get the Black Widow thing I even get the War Machine thing but what is tying all of this together? Will it make any sense? When I saw the trailer for IM1 I kind of got it right away. This time not so much. However it's just a trailer. I don't have to get it yet and I'm still very jazzed about seeing the film.

Yes, I've seen most of this before, as well, but I'm really stoked for this to come out. This will, probably, be the 1st time I see a non-kidz movie at the theater since Iron Man 1 (of course I need to, somehow, sneak off and see Avatar before then). At least the scene where Whiplash

cuts the race car in two was new and dam fricking cool!
I love Mickey Rourke before and after face lifts and roids.

Okay. Just watched the NEW Iron man 2 trailer and I have to say I'm far less worried and much more excited than I was after the first IM2 trailer. This could be lots of fun indeed.
Now that's more like it!

Nine days. Nine long, torturous days. God created the earth in six days; we have to wait 1.5 times that long to see this flick. And if any of you Brits come here and talk about it before I get to see it, I'll personally hunt down and remove every post you've ever made in this forum!

I watched Iron Man 2 last night at a cinema in the heart of London. Maybe it was because I was jetlagged, but I really didn't enjoy the movie. Tony Stark is just annoying - I'm over the playboy hero, especially one who lacks insight like Stark. Yes, it's tongue in cheek, but the movie screams 'everything about Stark is awesome, even without the suit'. Whiplash was mediocre as a villain, Hammer was played more for laughs and so lacked any sense of threat, and none of the action sequences, barring Monaco and the final fight with the circle of machines, where enjoyable.

2 stars.

Sorry, Iron Man fans.

I watched it seriously jet-lagged, too and eventhough I had heard bad things about it, I really enjoyed it. Not as good as the orig, but not too bad for a sequel. Yes, Tony is a chatty cathie with all the quips, but that stuff is funny to me. btw, I watched it on the worlds largest IMAX; the most expensive ticket I paid for a flick: about 30 bucks!
Cowboy: Why you doin' this, Doc?
Doc Holliday: Because Wyatt Earp is my friend.
Cowboy: Friend? Hell, I got lots of friends.
Doc Holliday: ... I don't.

I liked it more than I should of as I'm a big Mickey Rourke fan and I thought he did a great job <razzes Loremaster>. Stark's egomania was being attacked from all sides and it did change him.
Spoiler
I stayed past the credits and was pleasantly surprised to see Thor's hammer had landed nearby in New Mexico-of course Stark finding Captain America's half-made shield and using it as a leveler was funny as hell
