I'd say a few words would be appropriate. Anything more than that might just seem weird. It's not like you'll be storming the Bastille, or fighting at Trafalgar; but a psyker is a scary prospect to face.

You might also want to tell Clabo and Praetus where they should be, though I would assume from DK's post that they'll be with you and first squad.

If people say they come over, and I know what weapons they have, and skills, I'll assign them to various squads/tasks....

Clabo is carrying a standard and a las-pistol. Priests/missionaries tend to be good for inspiration, have a very high willpower, and are good in close combat. The standard would probably be unwieldly in the side-rooms/corridors. He is a bit beaten up from getting to the Bridge with Andrea, so you may want to reserve him from the front line.

As for Praetus, it's up to Lore to specify what he brings/wears. If he doesn't, I'll assume he wears his armour and carries his gun, which is a hell-pistol, I think. He has the 'trump' ability of being able to expose his third eye and, anyone who looks into it stares straight into the Warp and is either sent completely insane or is seriously stunned. In a sense, it's like a close range artillery piece. The range is short. About ten or fifteen metres at the most.

I have to say, the prospect of even pretending to negotiate with a wych doesn't sit well with Garrius too

Assuming they just don't open fire the instant they see you.

A distraction is all that's required for DK's plan to work, so you could talk or shoot, it's probably all the same. But it's maybe best to pretend to want to parley when it comes to someone who is supposed to be able to incinerate people just by looking at them.

Also, if those who have not voted could please do so, that would be much appreciated. I will close the contest by the start of next week and update accordingly.

Yeah, once we're not in combat, Andrea is going to whip our her Harvard MBA worker inspirational statements.

There will be motivational posters in the Librarium and in the hold. It will be glorious.

I hope Lore and Montresor appreciate the Gentlemen duelist image I just painted for Garrius. If only he had a horse and a cavalry battalion at his command.

I'm thinking of a cross between Barry Lyndon and a Spanish Conquistadore. Nice.

I also noted your first use of a stock 40k quote. Cool.

I think, very soon, someone will be paying the butcher's bill. Which side pays the most, we'll soon see :)

I'm looking forward (?) to some Key Enabling for Integrated Solutions; some Thinking Outside of the Box for Value-Added Directives. Merge these phrases with the 40K quotes and we have a recipe for profound inspiration.

Meanwhile, poor Zarkov misses out on Wych-killing adventurism, and instead has to debate policy with an arrogant nobleman who hates him.

True. You could almost say there's three, but two of those could double for WFRP lines. Actually, except for the plasma pistol, Garrius could almost double for a WFRP character with his combat look.

I loved the detail of the reptillian skin.

en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Warhammer_40,000:_Dawn_of_War

Thats my source for the quotes. theres more too, I just gotta find them. I love the Thoughts of the day found in the old 40k stuff.

I felt the combat look had to suit a nobleman and a gentleman more than anything. Wouldnt make sense for him to run about dressed like a storm trooper.

You know, I'm half tempted to attempt a model of Garrius. I might have to look into it

EDIT found more Thoughts for the day

These lists are fantastic. Ahh fond memories.

Can you put them in the Useful Links section?

Zarkov has already used my all-time favourite 40K quote: Innocence Proves Nothing.

If the rumours of an Ultramarines movie are true, I struggle to see how cinema-goers are going to identify with the unashamedly fascist ideologies of the Imperium. But, who cares?

Unfortunately, the movie will not be a cinema release; it's direct to DVD. The good news is that Dan Abnett is writing the script.

I always liked Dan Abnett's 2000 AD stuff.

The first part of the Sub-Level 12 encounter is up. Praetus should check his PMs before posting anything.

Please keep in mind that, due to the Vox failure, no micro-beads are functional.
