Stone Magnet wrote:Great pic Montresor. I'm expecting images of your completed Battlefleet (and perhaps a fully painted scale model "Invictus" Firestorm) to follow. No hurry. Looks like Lores already got a head start. :P

In other news, I just bought my girlfriend the Chaos Rising expansion for Dawn of War II. Finally we see a Great Unclean One rollicking about in all its HD glory.

Was a bit disappointed they didn't allow for different Greater Daemons depending on your allegiance. The lack of Slaanesh in any shape or form is a bit of a blow as well (not in the campaign, but as a multiplayer option), but i suppose there would have been censorship issues .

You can embody units with the mark of Tzeentch, Khorne and sometimes Nurgle, so I was half hoping to see at least a Keeper of Secrets in there. Still, a very good game, Genestealer infested Space Hulks and warp tainted planets abound. And finally we see the Wraithguard, my personal favourite Eldar infantry unit, take to the field with their 'holy-crap-they-create-miniature-black-holes' portable D-cannons.
I played the Chaos faction in a skirmish map when I visited my brother recently. Was very impressed. Gone is that terrible whiny cultist voice. Alas, I didn't get to see the Great Unclean One, but I was absolutely in love with the Juggernaut and Bloodletter rider. I doubt you'll ever see Slaaneshi Daemons in the game . . . far too adult for their market. A great shame, because Daemonettes (especially the '80s incarnation) are probably the creepiest daemon in the setting.

As for my fleet, I wanted to bring it with me to paint while I live on college, but I didn't have the packing space. Whenever I get the chance I'll bring them, that's for sure. It goes without saying that I'll have the Invictus's original squadron as ships - Invictus Aeterna, Kerreptus, and Precision. In the meantime, I'm also making plans to build a Hive Fleet.

As for the Wraithguard . . . I believe there are rules for them in the new RT expansion, "Lure of the Expanse". I know they have a lot of Eldar rules in there, including a lot of ships etc. Great stuff.

Correct. Depending on your class, the stat, skill, and talent costs are scaled differently. The easiest way for you and to do this is for you to tell me what you're considering, and I'll let you know the costs.

Your available skill and talent choices for Rank One Rogue Trader are:
Awareness
Command
Commerce
Charm
Ciphers (Rogue Trader)
Common Lore (Imperium)
Common Lore (Rogue Traders)
Dodge
Evaluate
Literacy
Pilot (Space Craft)
Scholastic Lore (Astromancy)
Secret Tongue (Rogue Trader)
Speak Language (Trader's Cant)
Ait of Authority
Ambidextrous
Melee Weapon Training (Primitive)
Renowned Warrant
Pistol Weapon Training (Universal)
Melee Weapon Training (Universal)

Discount the ones you already have. The last two cost 500 XP; the three above that cost 200 XP; all the rest cost 100 XP.

Will do.

I'd planned to email everyone a copy after XP expenditure, but if you want yours now, I'll happily oblige.

Have been a bit sick this evening. Nothing major, but I suspect xenos taint. Anyway, Footfall is slow in coming . . .

Thanks for that. I just wanted to make sure I had an updated version of it before choosing what to spend XP on.

I hope your general unwellness passes. To help cheer you up, I'll link this new trailer for the Space Marine movie: www.youtube.com/watch?v=8qBFNaA7u1E&fea ... r_embedded#

They've certainly done some interesting things with the setting there . . . I wonder if that dancing guy with the beard is a High-Priest of Slaanesh?

Footfall is open for all to post in.

Of course, there is. We need the food.

Ahh, yes, thank you for picking up on that. It seemed the logical IC choice for someone who was a jaded libertine (and perhaps worse).

Heh . . . I don't know whether to put it down to my cruel streak, or my undergraduate years writing about food riots. Perhaps both.

And it goes without saying that everyone is at full Wounds, and that any effects of temporary mania etc are no longer current.

Malachi is almost the dream PC for GMs in terms of adventure motivations. You barely even need to dangle a carrot to get him wanting to explore things :)

I saw the word Archeotech mentioned in the Footfall rumours, and immediately knew where I wanted to go. :P
