Flyers come from behind
I'd just like to give a nod of recognition to the Phila Flyers who won the second round in the playoffs.
They trailed the Bruins 3-0 then managed to win four straight to take the series.
Great games all around. Both teams, despite losing key players to injuries, managed to play some great hockey. All of the games, with one exception, were very close. Awesome series.

I'm here in Quincy, MA, visiting sister and bro-in-law, and we're both Flyer fans. He was very invested, b/c he had bet at work, loser wears other team jersey. Not only did they come back from 3-0 in series, but down 3-0 in 1st period. It was quite intense. And yes, a great game to end a great series.
Now they host the Canadiens, and a 7th seed. Crazy.
EDIT: BTW, tulizar, which swamps of NJ? Up in northeast somewhere?

I believe in the One who says there is life after this.
Now tell me how much more open can my mind be?

Nice! I'm sure your bro in law was a little disappointed!Cybrweez wrote:I'm here in Quincy, MA, visiting sister and bro-in-law, and we're both Flyer fans. Crazy indeed. I'd say the Flyers will have their work cut out for them vs the Canadians, but they've done well against them in the past. Plus, you're right, who would've thought the top ranked teams would've been eliminated? Anythings goes in NHL playoffs.
I'm from Medford...south jersey..about 20 miles east of Philly. The pine infested area of the state. It's not a bad location b/c I'm an easy drive to the city and the shore. It's sort of mid way between central jersey and extreme south.
Are you north or central?

I grew up in Marlton, right around the corner from you. Went to Cherokee. My parents are still down there, in Mt Holly, my brother in Voorhees. I'm in Jamesburg now, exit 8A on turnpike. Went to Rutgers and stayed up here.
You're from Medford, are you still there, or you grew up there?
Oh, and my bro-in-law is Flyers fan too, he's from PA. Work brought them up here to enemy country (except baseball, I'm a Sox fan, after the Phillies).

Cool.
I grew up in Medford, Shawnee Class of 86. I went to Rutgers South in beautiful down town Camden. Oddly enough I'm still employed by the same company I worked at while going to school.
Always nice to meet a fellow Garden Stater....Go Flyers (and Phils)!

Well, in a way it was fixed, it was originally broken at 3-0 Bruins, and the Flyers fixed it. Now up 1-0 on Montreal.

C'est le but!
Comeback (so far) for Les Habitants!
Good series. Just wish it would be closer in score, but the action is there.

Great game. This is definitely shaping up to be a good series.Usivius wrote:Comeback (so far) for Les Habitants!

Thought this was pretty funny:
www.theonion.com/articles/nation-just-f ... rom,17480/
BOSTON—The Philadelphia Flyers came back from three games down to defeat the Boston Bruins in their best-of-seven playoff series last week, a historic feat neither you nor the rest of the country knew about until reading this. "It feels amazing," Flyers goalie Michael Leighton said after his team, on the road for Game 7 and down by three goals, fought back to win, causing millions to drop their jaws, primarily because it was a stunning achievement, but also because they could not believe that this very moment is the first time they've heard anything about it. "The most recent team I can remember that did something this special was the 2004 Red Sox and [everyone and their mother knows about that, but don't forget, the Red Sox blew out the Yankees in Game 7 of the ALCS, and therefore this is actually more impressive]." When asked to respond to its newfound hockey knowledge, the nation seemed impressed, although it somehow felt it was not nearly as impressed as it should be.

Great finish to the series. Carter's return is huge for Flyers. Chicago looks good, will be tuff finals.

Yeah, but it was a fun ride!
I bet Carter was feeling it last night too.
Oh well, the B-hawks had a little more momentum the last two games, were able to get off more shots. I didn't even see the overtime goal--had to torture myself by watching the replays a few times. Ouch.
