As far as music I listen to, I listen far more to The Kinks and Pink Floyd (even with Barret as pictured above) than The Beatles. But even so, there are some Beatles compositions that are breathtaking in scope lyrically and musically for the time they were recorded.

Hmmm, I think history will hold out that the music the Beatles made was near timeless, and a good portion of their early stuff is the gold standard of that early style.
Although there are bands (and artist - Bowie) on that list that I personally like better than the Beatles, if I have to be objective... the Beatles are still #1.

No, Jeff Lynne was not in the group until they recorded their last one or two albums. He does not appear in the picture. I can't even tell which one is Roy Wood without his walrus mustache.
