Every time I eat taco bell I recall that my grandmother loved Taco Bell. When she moved here from Iran, and tried American fast food for the first time, Tacos quickly became her favorite food, which she loved from Taco Bell.
I was my grandmother's favorite. I used to wake her up every morning so that we could go and walk in the woods together. Then one morning in 1970, I tried to wake her up and she wouldn't wake up. It was my first experience with death.
I spoke to my brother about it recently and was surprised to learn that when I went to the psychiatrist's office I rushed over to a vase of cat-tails and strewed them all over the waiting room!
She is buried in Sanford Florida where we lived at the time. She died of stomach cancer.
